Good Practice and Quality Improvement

RPR is widely known and respected for our contribution to the area of quality improvement, especially in the human services field. We have extensive experience in developing good practice standards and accreditation systems which are tailor-made for specific programs or organisations; conducting compliance auditing and analysis of established systems; facilitating processes to articulate and document good practice; and providing innovative quality-related training and assistance to individual organisations. Our goal is always to place the clients of the service or program at the centre of any new system, and to use processes that ensure understanding and ownership among those who must carry the principles and practice forward.

Recent RPR projects and clients in this area include:

  • training in Quality Improvement (QI) theory and tools. NSW Department of Juvenile Justice QI Working Group (2007)
  • assisting the development and introduction of an assessment process against the National Disability Service Standards. ACT Department of Disability, Housing and Community Services (2006)

  • design and facilitation of good practice forums and documentation of findings including extensive use of case studies to illustrate good practice for the Youth Homelessness Pilot Program (1998), and for the Reconnect, Youth Activity Services and Family Liaison Workers programs (1998–2004), and Mentor Marketplace (2007).
