Our associates

RPR has regular contractual relationships with a number of key people who we use when the work requires a particular understanding or area of expertise. They are:

Nicole Moore (sub-contracted Indigenous Consultant)

Nicole has extensive experience working in both government and community organisations with particular expertise in the social housing sector. In the last four years, Nicole has been working as an independent consultant, including working with RPR regularly. Nicole works with a wide range of Indigenous organisations on business and governance development and has also conducted audits and evaluations of programs for government. Her work with RPR has included: conducting consultations to develop resource materials on wills and powers of attorney for Aboriginal people; conducting workshops with young Indigenous women on goal setting; conducting a joint investigation of service responses to child sexual abuse in an Aboriginal community; reviewing a program for intensive support for families. Nicole has highly developed skills in workshop facilitation, training, community consultation and policy development. She has completed a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training and is currently studying towards a Graduate Diploma of Housing Management and Policy.

Ian Watson

Ian has been an applied researcher for the last two decades, concentrating on the quantitative analysis of economic and social issues. His background is in the areas of labour market analysis, sociology and history. Prior to becoming a freelance researcher, Ian worked for 13 years as a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian Centre for Industrial Relations Research and Training at Sydney University. Ian has skills in survey design and analysis and has written a number of statistical programs for the Stata statistical package. He is currently a Visiting Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Politics and International Relations at Macquarie University.

Ian is currently working with RPR on a number of projects, providing additional expertise in high-level statistical analysis and methodologies. In addition, Ian has been conducting on-line surveys for RPR in a number of projects.

Kent Maddock

Kent Maddock is an organisational consultant. He undertakes tough assignments ranging from confidential assessments of the performance of individual senior executives to the restructuring of major organisations. He has over 20 years experience of such work in the public and private sector. Kent is based in Brisbane. He has been Deputy Director-General of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General and Assistant Director of the State Government Computer Centre in Queensland and so can identify with the challenges that face senior executives. Kent is a trained facilitator and mediator with expertise in strategic management, organisational review and development and sustainable change.

Dean Ingram (Indigenous consultant)

Dean has recently begun working with RPR as an independent consultant. DeanŐs work history has been in both State and Federal Government departments, as well as a number of Aboriginal & arts organisations such as: the Redfern Aboriginal Dance Theatre, Bangarra Dance Theatre and the Sydney Opera House. While working in these positions, he has gained vast experience in a number of areas, including organising, running and facilitating conferences and workshops. Dean has worked with RPR conducting interviews with consumers and service providers on two projects He has also conducted and documented focus groups for testing a health promotion campaign. Dean has received numerous awards for his work in the community, including being named Young Citizen of the Year in 1996 by South Sydney Council.

Keith Smailes

Keith Smailes is Brisbane-based and consults in human resource management, organisational change and review, capacity building, program evaluation and business planning. He has consulted to a range of government agencies, professional bodies and community service providers. He is regarded highly for his expertise in structural review, aligning executive management to business priorities, recruiting executives and conducting evaluations of programs and services. Keith has worked at senior management levels in state and local government as a Human Resource Manager, Training and Development Manager and organisational consultant. He is a skilled facilitator and trainer, experienced in community consultation in Indigenous settings and has done extensive work on aid funded health and environmental sector capacity building projects in Papua New Guinea, Laos, Thailand and Fiji.
